Grazie alla preziosa segnalazione di una gestilissima persona che la sera del 14 gennaio 2008 ha ascoltato su Radio Mater un'intervista a Monsignor Andrea Gemma, Vescovo Emerito di Isernia, abbiamo finalmente la conferma che la Congregazione per la Dottrina della Fede appoggia la posizione della Diocesi di Mostar, di conseguenza la Madonna a Medjugorje non è mai apparsa.
Oltretutto ho avuto conferma telefonica da Monsignor Gemma che la sua personale opinione riguardo le apparizioni di Medjugorje, siano di origine demoniaca. Essendo S.E. Vescovo Esorcista, questa conferma deve far riflettere con molta umiltà i seguaci di queste "apparizioni" anticristiche se vogliono veramente dirsi mariani e liberarsi dell'ingannatore "del piano di sotto" come ama chiamarlo scherzosamente Monsignor Andrea Gemma che ringrazio di tutto cuore anche per avermi inviato fotocopie del seguente documento.

Comunicato dei Vescovi toscani

Durante la Visita "ad limina Apostolorum" dei Vescovi della Regione Toscana, nei giorni 16/20 aprile 2007, abbiamo avuto un incontro presso la Sacra Congregazione per la Dottrina della Fede, con il Segretario Monsignor Angelo Amato, il quale, parlando con noi delle apparizioni di Medjugorje, ci ha invitati a rendere pubblica l'Omelia del Vescovo di Mostar, per fare chiarezza sul fenomeno religioso legato a questo luogo.
In conformità a questo invito rendiamo note, e preghiamo, soprattutto i Sacerdoti, a leggerlo attentamente ed a trarre le conseguenze necessarie, per la retta illuminazione dei nostri fedeli.

III - “Le apparizioni”
Innanzitutto, il fatto che qualcuno si confessa sinceramente e riceve devotamente la santa comunione in questa chiesa parrocchiale e che tale persona nella sua anima sente la gioia, grazie al perdono di Dio, lo salutera' ogni fedele e lo attribuira' a Dio, fonte di ogni grazia. Ma sara' attento di non passare, in maniera illogica e inconseguente, da tale fatto di grazia alla conclusione: “Io mi sono confessato, mi sento bene, ora sono convertito, dunque la Madonna appare a Medjugorje!” Tale fedele e penitente e' comunque obbligato a confessarsi, frequentare gli altri sacramenti, osservare tutti i comandamenti al di la' del fatto se le apparizioni private siano riconosciute o meno.

Secondo, io non sarei un ministro responsabile del Mistero del Corpo e del Sangue di Cristo se non avvertissi, anche oggi pubblicamente, anche da questo luogo e in questa occasione, tutto il mondo interessato che in questa Chiesa locale di Mostar-Duvno esiste qualcosa come uno scisma: un gruppo di sacerdoti, dimessi dal Governo generale dei Frati minori dall'Ordine francescano a causa della loro disobbedienza al Santo Padre gia' da anni mantiene in maniera violenta piu' chiese parrocchiali ed uffici con l'inventario ecclesiastico. In tali parrocchie essi operano non solo illegalmente ma amministrano i sacramenti sacrilegamente, ed alcuni anche invalidamente, come sono la confessione e la cresima oppure assistono ai matrimoni invalidi. Tale prassi antiecclesiastica deve essere scioccante per tutti noi.
Ugualmente tale scandalo del sacrilegio dei sacramenti, specialmente del Santissimo Corpo di Gesu', dovrebbe essere scioccante anche per i fedeli che si confessano invalidamente davanti a tali sacerdoti e assistono alle Messe sacrileghe. Preghiamo il Signore di togliere quanto prima di mezzo di noi questo scandalo e scisma.
Terzo, sono grato al Santo Padre, sia a Papa Giovanni Paolo II, di b. m. sia a Benedetto XVI, gloriosamente regnante, i quali hanno sempre rispettato la posizione dei vescovi di Mostar-Duvno, sia del defunto sia dell'attuale, riguardo alle presunte “apparizioni” e “messaggi” di Medjugorje, restando sempre fermo il pieno diritto al Sommo Pontefice di pronunziarne l'ultimo verdetto. E questa posizione dei vescovi, dopo tutte le indagini canoniche, si puo' riassumere in queste frasi:

1 - Medjugorje e' una parrocchia cattolica nella quale si realizza la vita liturgica e pastorale come nelle altre parrocchie di questa Diocesi di Mostar-Duvno. E nessuno e' autorizzato ad attribuire il titolo ufficiale di “santuario” a questo luogo, eccetto la Chiesa.
2 - In base alle indagini ecclesiastiche sugli avvenimenti di Medjugorje non si puo' affermare che si tratti delle apparizioni o rivelazioni soprannaturali. Questo significa che la Chiesa finora non ha accettato nessuna apparizione ne' come soprannaturale ne' come mariana.
3 - Nessun sacerdote che opera canonicamente in questa parrocchia di Medjugorje o che sia di passaggio e' autorizzato a presentare la sua opinione privata, contraria alla posizione ufficiale della Chiesa sulle “apparizioni e messaggi”, ne' in occasione delle celebrazioni dei sacramenti, ne' durante gli atti di pieta' soliti, ne' nei mezzi di comunicazione cattolici.
4 - I fedeli cattolici non sono solo liberi dall'obbligo di credere nella veracita' delle “apparizioni” ma devono sapere che non sono permessi i pellegrinaggi ecclesiastici, ne' ufficiali ne' privati, ne' personali ne' comuni, dalle altre parrocchie, se presuppongono l'autenticita' delle “apparizioni” o se con cio' autenticassero tali “apparizioni”. Chi fa ed insegna diversamente, non agisce e non insegna secondo lo spirito della Chiesa.
5 - In base alle indagini e prassi finora avute, come vescovo locale ritengo che riguardo agli avvenimenti di Medjugorje per tutti questi 25 anni non e' accertata, a livello ecclesiastico, nessuna “apparizione” della Madonna come autentica. Il fatto che nel corso di questi 25 anni si parla di decine di migliaia delle “apparizioni”, non attribuisce nessuna autenticita' a tali eventi, secondo le parole dell'attuale Santo Padre, udite durante l'udienza concessami il 24 febbraio u.s., alla Congregazione per la dottrina della fede hanno sempre suscitato la domanda come possano essere credibili per un credente cattolico.

Soprattutto non ci appaiono come autentiche se gia' si sa in anticipo che le presunte “apparizioni” avverranno:
- ad una persona ogni anno il 18 marzo, ma avra' anche le “apparizioni” ogni 2 del mese, con i “messaggi” che puoi anche tu aspettare, secondo la procedura abituale;
- ad un'altra avverra' ogni giorno dell'anno, ma - come se questo non fosse sufficiente - e percio' di aggiunta ogni 25 del mese una “apparizione” particolare ed anche una specie di comunicato al pubblico che anche tu puoi prevedere e aspettare;
- ad una terza apparira' ogni 25 di dicembre, per il Natale, anche con il comunicato simile ai gia' menzionati;
- ad una quarta persona “apparira'” ogni anno il 25 giugno, e cio' con un certo comunicato;
- agli altri due ogni giorno con i “messaggi” che si possono prevedere perche' sono varianti dei simili contenuti.
Tale fatto ed alluvione delle presunte apparizioni, messaggi, segreti e segni non confermano la fede ma ci convincono ancor di piu' che in tutto questo non e' accertato niente di autentico e veritiero.
Percio' responsabilmente invito quelli che dicono di se di essere “veggenti” come anche quelli che formulano i “messaggi” di mostrare l'obbedienza ecclesiastica e di cessare con tali pubbliche comparse e comunicati in questa parrocchia. Con cio' manifesteranno loro dovuto senso ecclesiale non mettendo le “apparizioni” private e le comunicazioni private sopra la posizione ufficiale della Chiesa.

La fede e' una cosa seria e responsabile.

Per l'intercessione della Beata Vergine Maria, la piu' grande portatrice dei doni dello Spirito di Dio e la quale per l'opera dello Spirito Santo nel suo grembo ha concepito, e ha dato al mondo, la Seconda Persona Divina, Cristo Gesu', il quale ci da' il suo Santissimo Corpo e Sangue per la vita eterna, voglia Lui - Via Verita' e Vita - aiutarci affinche' la verita' sulla Beata Vergine, Madre sua e Madre della Chiesa, Sede della Sapienza e Specchio della Giustizia, risplenda in tutto il suo splendore in questa nostra parrocchia e diocesi, senza alcuna mescolanza delle cose non degne della fede, e tutto in conformita' all'immutabile dottrina e prassi della Chiesa.

Thanks to the valuable reporting of a very kind person who heard an interview with Monsignor Andrea Gemma, Bishop Emeritus of Isernia, on the evening of 14 January 2008 on Radio Mater, we finally have the confirmation that the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith supports the position of the Diocese of Mostar, consequently, that Our Lady has never appeared in Medjugorje.

Afterwards I had confirmation by telephone from Bishop Gemma of his personal opinion about the apparitions of Medjugorje that they are of demonic origin. Since His Excellency the Bishop is an exorcist, this confirmation must also cause the followers of these antichrist-like "apparitions" to reflect with great humility if they want to really call themselves Marian and be freed from the deceiver “from down below”, as Monsignor Andrea Gemma jokingly likes to call him. I thank him [Bishop Gemma] with all my heart for having sent me photocopies of the following document.

Press Release of the Bishops of Tuscany

During the "ad limina Apostolorum” visit of Bishops of the Region of Tuscany, from April 16-20, 2007 we had a meeting at the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith with the Secretary Monsignor Angelo Amato, who, while talking with us about the apparitions of Medjugorje, invited us to make public the homily of the Bishop of Mostar of June 15, 2006 given at St. James Parish in Medjugorje (see below), to make clear the religious phenomenon connected to this place. According to this invitation we are making it known and above all we ask the priests to read it carefully and to draw the necessary consequences for the correct enlightenment of our faithful.

III. –– “Apparitions”. First of all , the fact that a person makes a humble Confession and receives Holy Communion in this parish church and that this person feels spiritually well due to God's forgiveness, each and every believer will recognize and give due praise to God for this, who is the source of all graces. At the same time, this person will take care not to proceed from this state of grace towards an illogical and inconsistent conclusion: “I made a Confession. I feel good and now I am converted. Therefore the Madonna is appearing in Medjugorje!” This type of believer and penitent is nonetheless obliged to go to confession, receive the other sacraments, observe the Commandments, whether any private apparitions are recognized or not.

Secondly , I would be an irresponsible minister of the Mystery of the Body and Blood of Christ, if today I were not to publicly advise, from this place and on this occasion as well, to all those interested throughout the world, that in this local Church of Mostar-Duvno, there exists something similar to a schism. A number of priests that have been expelled from the Franciscan OFM Order by the Generalate of the Order, due to their disobedience to the Holy Father, for years now have been forcefully keeping a few parish churches and rectories along with church inventory. They have not only been illegally active in these parishes, but they have also administered the sacraments profanely, while others invalidly, such as Confession and Confirmation, or they have assisted at invalid marriages. This type of anti-ecclesial behaviour is shocking to all of us. At the same time, this scandal of sacrilegiously administering the sacraments, especially of the Most Holy Body of Christ, must shock all the faithful as well who invalidly confess their sins to these priests and participate in sacrilegious liturgies. We pray to the Lord that this scandal and schism be uprooted as soon as possible from our midst.

Thirdly , I am truly grateful to the Holy Father the Pope, to John Paul II of blessed memory and to the reigning Benedict XVI, who have always respected the judgements of the bishops of Mostar-Duvno, of the previous as well as the current bishop, regarding the so-called “apparitions” and “messages” of Medjugorje, all the while recognizing the Holy Father's right to give a final decision on these events. The judgements of the bishops, after all the canonical investigations made thus far, can be summarized in these following points:

1 - Medjugorje is a catholic parish in which liturgical and pastoral activities are carried out, just as in all the other parishes of this diocese of Mostar-Duvno. No-one except the official Church authorities is then authorized to attribute the formal title of “shrine” to this place.
2 - On the basis of Church investigations of the events of Medjugorje, it cannot be determined that these events involve supernatural apparitions or revelations. This means that till now the Church has not accepted, neither as supernatural nor as Marian, any of the apparitions.
3 - Priests who canonically administer this parish of Medjugorje or those who come as visitors, are not authorised to express their private views contrary to the official position of the Church on the so-called “apparitions” and “messages”, during celebrations of the sacraments, neither during other common acts of piety, nor in the Catholic media.
4 - The Catholic faithful are not only free from any obligation to believe in the authenticity of the “apparitions” but they must also know that church pilgrimages are not allowed, whether official or private, individual or group, or from other parishes, if they presuppose the authenticity of the “apparitions” or if by undertaking them attempt to certify these “apparitions”.
5 - As the local Bishop, I maintain that regarding the events of Medjugorje, on the basis of the investigations and experience gained thus far, throughout these last 25 years, the Church has not confirmed a single “apparition” as authentically being the Madonna. The fact that during these 25 years there has been talk of tens of thousands of “apparitions” does not contribute any authenticity to these events, which according to the words of our current Pope, who I encountered during an audience on 24 February this year, commented that at the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith they always questioned how all these “apparitions” could be considered authentic for the Catholic faithful. They particularly do not seem to be authentic when it is known beforehand that these so-called “apparitions” will occur:
To one of the “seers” on the 18 th of March every year, but along with this she will also receive an “apparition” on the 2 nd of each month, with “messages” which you can expect, according to the established procedures;
The second will receive an apparition on every day of the year, and if this were not enough, an added special “apparition” on the 25 th of each month along with a type of press release, which once again you can foresee and expect;
The third will receive an “apparition” on the 25th of December, on Christmas day, along with a message similar to the ones already mentioned;
The fourth will receive an “apparition” on the 8th of September every year along with a specific message;
The remaining two will receive the same, every day along with “messages” that can be anticipated since they are variations on the same theme. This fact and the flood of so-called apparitions, messages, secrets and signs, do not strengthen the faith, but rather further convince us that in all of this there is nothing neither authentic nor established as truthful.

Therefore I responsibly call upon those who claim themselves to be “seers”, as well as those persons behind the “messages”, to demonstrate ecclesiastical obedience and to cease with these public manifestations and messages in this parish. In this fashion they shall show their necessary adherence to the Church, by neither placing private “apparitions” nor private sayings before the official position of the Church. Our faith is a serious and responsible matter. The Church is also a serious and responsible institution!

Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the greatest possessor of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, who through the same Holy Spirit conceived in her body and gave birth to the Second person of the Trinity, Jesus Christ, who gives us his Most Holy Body and Blood for eternal life, may He - who is the Way, the Truth and the Life –– help us so that the truth of the Blessed Virgin, his Mother and Mother of the Church, Seat of Wisdom and Mirror of Justice, may shine forth in brightness in this parish and diocese, without even a hint of incredibility, yet all in accord with the constant teachings and practice of the Church.
